Having faced the filtration once in 2019 and having managed to reach UPSC interview stage in 2020, I have some insights to share with you regarding the Prelims examination. On calculating the average, I have rounded off the OPTIMAL MARKS / MIMIMUM MARKS to clear UPSC Prelims as 105. Eventhough the Cutoff hasn't crossed 100 in last 2 years, it is much intelligible to have a higher cutoff, so that we finally sail the through Prelims exam.

How many questions to attempt in UPSC prelims?
Based on a manually-built tabulation, I have come to the conclusion that one must attempt more than 85 questions to clear the UPSC Prelims with a safe edge and this holds particularly for the candidates who get more negative marks (due to wrong answers).
